H.F. 113 Section 1. Section 481A.48, Code 2019, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 7. The commission shall adopt rules to 3 prohibit the use of any shot other than nontoxic shot approved 4 by the United States fish and wildlife service for hunting 5 mourning doves or Eurasian collared doves. 6 Sec. 2. Section 805.8B, subsection 3, paragraph h, Code 7 2019, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 8 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (7) Use of other than nontoxic shot for 9 hunting doves, the scheduled fine is twenty-five dollars. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill requires the natural resource commission to adopt 14 rules to prohibit the use of any shot other than nontoxic shot 15 approved by the United States fish and wildlife service for 16 hunting mourning doves or Eurasian collared doves.
