The
economic
development
authority
and
the
department

of
agriculture
and
land
stewardship
shall
jointly
conduct
a
4
feasibility
study
regarding
the
establishment
of
a
modern
5
working
farm
tourist
attraction
to
promote
and
educate
tourists
6
about
the
state’s
state-of-the-art
agricultural
practices.

2.
The
authority
and
the
department
shall
submit
a
report
8
regarding
the
feasibility
study,
including
findings
and
9
recommendations,
to
the
general
assembly
no
later
than
January
10
11,
2019.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
12
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
15
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
directs
the
economic
development
authority
and
17
the
department
of
agriculture
and
land
stewardship
to
jointly
18
conduct
a
feasibility
study
regarding
the
establishment

of
a
modern
working
farm
tourist
attraction
to
promote
and
20
educate
tourists
on
about
Iowa’s
state-of-the-art
agricultural

practices.

The
bill
requires
the
authority
and
the
department
to
submit

a
report
regarding
the
feasibility
study,
including
findings

recommendations,
to
the
general
assembly

2019.
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
