H.F. 366 Section 1. Section 8A.512A, subsection 2, unnumbered 1 paragraph 1, Code 2017, is amended to read as follows: 2 A claim for reimbursement for any out-of-state travel, 3 conference, or related expenditures shall only be allowed after 4 the occurrence of both all of the following: 5 Sec. 2. Section 8A.512A, subsection 2, Code 2017, is amended 6 by adding the following new paragraph: 7 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. If the travel is outside the country, 8 the employee submits proof that the employee attended a cyber 9 security briefing both before and after the travel conducted by 10 the office of the chief information officer. 11 Sec. 3. Section 8B.4, Code 2017, is amended by adding the 12 following new subsection: 13 NEW SUBSECTION . 10A. Conduct cyber security briefings 14 for employees of the executive branch seeking reimbursement 15 pursuant to section 8A.512A for travel outside the country. A 16 briefing shall be conducted both before and after the travel 17 and shall include information about cyber security threats 18 prior to travel and an evaluation, after the travel, of any 19 personal electronic devices utilized by the employee during the 20 travel. 21 EXPLANATION 22 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 23 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 24 This bill requires an executive branch employee seeking 25 reimbursement for travel that occurs outside the country 26 pursuant to Code section 8A.512A to submit proof that the 27 employee attended a cyber security briefing both before 28 and after the travel conducted by the office of the chief 29 information officer.
