1.
Section

amended
to

Use

unmanned
aerial
vehicle
automated
or
remote

systems
for
traffic
law
enforcement
prohibited.

The
state
or
a
political
subdivision
of
the
state
shall
not
5
use
an
unmanned
aerial
vehicle
any
automated
or
remote
system
6
for
traffic
law
enforcement
including
but
not
limited
to
an
7
unmanned
aerial
vehicle
and
any
device
with
one
or
more
sensors
8
working
in
conjunction
with
a
traffic-control
device,
signal
9
light,
speed
measuring
device,
or
parking
meter
device
.

Sec.
2.
REMOVAL
OF
AUTOMATED
OR
REMOTE
TRAFFIC
LAW

ENFORCEMENT
SYSTEMS
——
VALIDITY
OF
PRIOR
NOTICES
AND
12
CITATIONS.
On
or
before
July
1,
2015,
a
local
authority
using
13
an
automated
or
remote
traffic
law
enforcement
system
shall
14
discontinue
using
the
system
and
remove
the
system
equipment.
15
Effective
July
1,
2015,
all
local
ordinances
authorizing
the
16
use
of
an
automated
or
remote
traffic
law
enforcement
system
17
are
void.
However,
notices
of
violations
mailed
or
citations
18
issued
pursuant
to
such
an
ordinance
prior
to
July
1,
2015,
19
shall
not
be
invalidated
by
the
enactment
of
this
Act
and
shall
20
be
processed
according
to
the
provisions
of
the
law
under
which
21
they
were
authorized.

Sec.
3.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT.
The
section
of
this
23
Act
relating
to
the
removal
of
automated
or
remote
traffic
24
law
enforcement
systems
and
the
validity
of
prior
notices
and
25
citations,
being
deemed
of
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
26
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION
28
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
29
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
imposes
a
statewide
prohibition
on
the
use
of
31
automated
or
remote
traffic
law
enforcement
systems
including
32
but
not
limited
to
unmanned
aerial
vehicles
and
any
devices
33
with
one
or
more
sensors
working
in
conjunction
with
a
34
traffic-control
device,
signal
light,
speed
measuring
device,

parking

device.
This
provision
of
the
bill
takes
1
effect
July
1,
2015.

Local
authorities
that
are
currently
using
automated
or
3
remote
traffic
law
enforcement
systems
must
discontinue
their

use
and
remove
related
equipment
on
or
before
July
1,
2015.

On
that
date,
all
local
ordinances
authorizing
the
use
of

automated
or
remote
traffic
law
enforcement
systems
are
void.

However,
notices
of

issued
