Section
1.
BEHAVIORAL
HEALTH
TRANSPORTATION
——
PILOT
1
PROJECT.

1.
The
department
of
human
services
shall
establish
a
3
three-year
behavioral
health
transportation
pilot
project
in
4
a
county
with
a
population
between
165,000
and
200,000
as
5
determined
by
the
latest
certified
federal
census
to
contract
6
with
a
private
entity
for
transportation
services
for
persons
7
who
require
medical
transportation
due
to
a
substance-related
8
disorder
or
a
mental
illness.
In
contracting
with
a
private
9
entity
to
provide
such
services,
the
county
shall
include
10
provisions
relating
to
appropriately
trained
personnel
and
the
11
use
of
appropriately
equipped
vehicles
to
ensure
at
all
times
12
the
safe
transportation
of
persons
served
pursuant
to
this
13
section.

The
director
of
human
services
shall
ensure
that
the
15
terms
of
any
contract
for
managed
care
or
prepaid
services
16
for
transportation
services
for
persons
who
require
medical
17
transportation
due
to
a
substance-related
disorder
or
a
mental
18
illness
under
the
Medicaid
program
shall
provide
reimbursement
19
for
the
transportation
services
provided
by
the
private
entity
20
pursuant
to
this
section.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
establishes
a
pilot
project
for
transportation

services

persons
who
require
medical
transportation
due
to

a
substance-related
disorder
or
a
mental
illness.

The
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
to

a
