S.F. 139 Section 1. GAMBLING GAMES LICENSE ISSUANCE —— TERMS AND 1 CONDITIONS. The racing and gaming commission shall establish 2 a process for the purpose of granting a license to conduct 3 gambling games on a gambling structure pursuant to the 4 requirements of this section and chapter 99F by December 1, 5 2015. Applications for a license under this section shall 6 be submitted by August 1, 2015, and shall be limited to 7 applications from proposed licensees for which the gambling 8 structure on which gambling games are to be conducted shall be 9 located in a city with a population of more than fifty thousand 10 in the latest preceding certified federal census. A license to 11 conduct gambling games issued pursuant to this section shall 12 provide that the premises of the licensee, including the gaming 13 floor, shall, notwithstanding any provision of law to the 14 contrary, be subject to the smoking prohibition requirements 15 of section 142D.3. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This bill requires the racing and gaming commission to 20 establish a process for the purpose of granting a license to 21 conduct gambling games at a gambling structure that is subject 22 to the smoking prohibition requirements of Code section 142D.3, 23 by December 1, 2015.
