MILLER and SEXTON A Resolution recognizing and congratulating the 1 Iowa Central Community College men’s and women’s 2 track, women’s soccer, and men’s cross country 3 teams and programs on their outstanding athletic 4 accomplishments. 5 WHEREAS, the Iowa Central Community College men’s 6 and women’s indoor track and field teams won the 7 National Junior College Athletic Association Indoor 8 Track and Field Championships held on March 4-5, 2016, 9 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and 10 WHEREAS, the men’s and women’s track and field 11 teams entered the championships ranked 1st and 2nd, 12 respectively; and 13 WHEREAS, the men’s and women’s track and field teams 14 have each won the national title four times since 15 2010; and 16 WHEREAS, the Iowa Central Community College women’s 17 soccer team won the National Junior College Athletic 18 Association Women’s Soccer Championships on November 19 21, 2015, on the Melbourne Campus of Eastern Florida 20 State University in Brevard County, Florida; and 21 WHEREAS, the women’s soccer team entered the 22 championship ranked 3rd with a 15-1 record; and 23 WHEREAS, it was the women’s soccer team’s first 24 national title; and 25 WHEREAS, the Iowa Central Community College men’s 26 cross country team won the National Junior College 27 Athletic Association Cross Country Championships held 28 -1- LSB 6047YH (2) 86 rn/nh 1/ 2

H.R. 110 on November 14, 2015, in Fort Dodge, Iowa; and 1 WHEREAS, the men’s cross country team was ranked 1st 2 for a majority of the season and won the national title 3 for the second consecutive year; NOW THEREFORE, 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, 5 That the House of Representatives recognizes and 6 congratulates the Iowa Central Community College 7 men’s and women’s track, women’s soccer, and men’s 8 cross country teams and programs for their outstanding 9 achievements in winning National Junior College 10 Athletic Association Championships in late 2015 and 11 early 2016; and 12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this 13 resolution be sent to Iowa Central Community College 14 President Dr. Dan Kinney, Track and Field Head Coach 15 Denny Myers, Women’s Soccer Head Coach Christiane 16 Lessa, and Men’s Cross Country Head Coach Dee Brown. 17 -2- LSB 6047YH (2) 86 rn/nh 2/ 2
