H.F. 44 Section 1. Section 483A.8, subsection 7, Code 2015, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 7. A person who is issued a youth deer hunting license 3 and does not take a deer during the youth deer hunting season 4 may use the deer hunting license and unused tag during any 5 other firearm season that is established by the commission to 6 take a deer of either sex. The commission shall adopt a rule 7 permitting a person who is issued a youth deer hunting license 8 to use a crossbow to take a deer of any sex during any deer 9 hunting season that is designated by the commission. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill requires the natural resource commission to 14 adopt a rule permitting a person who is issued a youth deer 15 hunting license to use a crossbow for taking a deer of either 16 sex during any deer hunting season that is designated by the 17 commission.
