H.F. 413 Section 1. Section 455B.104, Code 2015, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 5. a. The department shall equip every 3 vehicle owned by the department or otherwise used by department 4 personnel in the person’s official capacity with a global 5 positioning system device. The department shall record the 6 real-time location of such vehicles, maintain an electronic log 7 of the real-time locations of such vehicles on a yearly basis, 8 and make the log accessible to the public. 9 b. This subsection does not apply to vehicles used by 10 conservation officers appointed under section 456A.13 or 11 456A.14. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill requires the department of natural resources to 16 equip every vehicle owned by the department or otherwise used 17 by department personnel in an official capacity with a global 18 positioning system device. The department shall record the 19 real-time location of the vehicles and maintain an electronic 20 log of the vehicles on a yearly basis, and shall make this 21 information accessible to the public.
