Section
1.
Section
257.11,
Code
2015,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

SUBSECTION

School
district
per
pupil
transportation

cost.

a.
In
order
to
provide
additional
funds
for
school
districts
5
with
district
transportation
costs
per
pupil
in
excess
of
6
the
state
average
transportation
costs
per
pupil,
as
those
7
amounts
are
determined
under
section
257.31,
subsection
17,
8
a
supplementary
weighting
plan
for
determining
enrollment
is
9
adopted.

b.
A
supplementary
weighting
amount
per
pupil
as
determined
11
under
paragraph
“c”
shall
be
assigned
to
each
pupil
included
12
in
the
budget
enrollment
of
a
school
district
that
meets
the
13
requirement
of
paragraph
“a”
.

c.
For
each
budget
year
beginning
on
or
after
July
1,
15
2015,
the
supplementary
weighting
amounts
assigned
under
this
16
subsection
are
as
follows:

(1)
For
a
school
district
that
has
district
transportation

costs
per
pupil
in
excess
of
the
state
average
transportation
19
costs
per
pupil,
but
equal
to
or
less
than
the
sum
of
the
20
state
average
transportation
costs
per
pupil
plus
one
hundred

dollars,
one
hundredth
per
pupil.

(2)
For
a
school
district
that
has
district
transportation
23
costs
per
pupil
in
excess
of
the
sum
of
the
state
average
24
transportation
costs
per
pupil
plus
one
hundred
dollars,
but
25
less
than
the
sum
of
the
state
average
transportation
costs
per
26
pupil
plus
two
hundred
dollars,
two
hundredths
per
pupil.

For
a
school
district
that
has
district
transportation

per
pupil
equal
to
or
in
excess
of
the
sum
of
the
state
