NEW SECTION . 483A.9B Three-day nonresident hunting 5 licenses. 6 1. The commission is authorized, pursuant to rules adopted 7 under chapter 17A, to provide for the issuance of a three-day 8 hunting license that includes the wildlife habitat fee and 9 costs seventy-five dollars, to a nonresident who was born in 10 Iowa. 11 2. The license shall be issued only once per year to a 12 nonresident who provides a certified copy of the person’s 13 certificate of birth in this state and a current and valid 14 photo identification card. 15 3. A nonresident hunting with a license issued under this 16 section shall be otherwise qualified to hunt in this state. 17 EXPLANATION 18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 19 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 20 This bill authorizes the natural resource commission to 21 issue, pursuant to rules adopted under Code chapter 17A, a 22 three-day hunting license that includes the wildlife habitat 23 fee and costs $75, to a nonresident who was born in Iowa. 24 The license can only be issued once a year to a nonresident 25 who provides a certified copy of the person’s certificate 26 of birth in this state and a current and valid photo 27 identification card. 28 A nonresident hunting with such a license must be otherwise 29 qualified to hunt in this state. 30 A violation of the provisions of the bill is punishable 31 with a scheduled fine of $100 pursuant to Code section 32 805.8B(3)(o)(5). 33 -1- LSB 5368XS (3) 85 av/nh 1/ 1
