H.F. 2189 Section 1. 2013 Iowa Acts, chapter 138, section 159, 1 subsection 4, is amended to read as follows: 2 4. a. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, the 3 foster family basic daily maintenance rate and the maximum 4 adoption subsidy rate for children ages 0 through 5 years 5 shall be $16.78 $17.62 , the rate for children ages 6 through 6 11 years shall be $17.45 $18.32 , the rate for children ages 7 12 through 15 years shall be $19.10 $20.05 , and the rate for 8 children and young adults ages 16 and older shall be $19.35 9 $20.32 . For youth ages 18 to 21 who have exited foster care, 10 the preparation for adult living program maintenance rate shall 11 be $602.70 $632.10 per month. The maximum payment for adoption 12 subsidy nonrecurring expenses shall be limited to $500 and the 13 disallowance of additional amounts for court costs and other 14 related legal expenses implemented pursuant to 2010 Iowa Acts, 15 chapter 1031, section 408 shall be continued. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This bill relates to reimbursement rates for family foster 20 care and related providers for the fiscal year beginning July 21 1, 2014, by amending 2013 Iowa Acts, chapter 138 (SF 466 —— 22 relating to health and human services appropriations), to 23 increase the rates specified for foster family basic daily 24 maintenance and the maximum adoption subsidy rates for FY 25 2014-2015 by approximately 5 percent. These reimbursements are 26 paid through the department of human services. In accordance 27 with administrative rule, the reimbursement paid by the 28 department for persons providing a subsidized guardianship is 29 based upon the daily foster care rate. 30 -1- LSB 6048YH (2) 85 jp/rj 1/ 1
