S.F. 2082 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 249A.15B Speech pathologists 1 eligible for payment. 2 The department shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 3 17A entitling speech pathologists who are licensed pursuant 4 to chapter 154F, including those certified in independent 5 practice, to payment for speech pathology services provided 6 to recipients of medical assistance, subject to limitations 7 and exclusions the department finds necessary on the basis of 8 federal laws and regulations. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill directs the department of human services to 11 adopt rules entitling licensed speech pathologists, including 12 those certified in independent practice, to payment for 13 speech pathology services provided to recipients of medical 14 assistance, subject to limitations and exclusions the 15 department finds necessary on the basis of federal laws and 16 regulations. 17 -1- LSB 5796XS (2) 84 pf/nh 1/ 1
