S.F. 104 Section 1. VERIFICATION OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS —— 1 DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES PUBLIC PROGRAMS. The department 2 of human services shall adopt rules to require that any 3 program supported by public funds under the department of human 4 services shall require verification by state or local staff, 5 as applicable, of the social security number of any applicant 6 for program services. The department shall incorporate the 7 verification requirement into all application processes in the 8 most cost-effective manner. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill requires the department of human services to adopt 11 rules to require that any program supported by public funds 12 under the purview of the department require verification by 13 state or local staff, as applicable, of the social security 14 number of any applicant for program services.
