H.F. 2082 Section 1. Section 37.10, Code 2011, is amended to read as 1 follows: 2 37.10 Qualification —— appointment. 3 1. Each commissioner, except for a memorial hospital 4 commissioner, shall be a veteran, as defined in section 35.1 , 5 and be a resident of the county in which the memorial hall or 6 monument is located. Each commissioner for a memorial hospital 7 shall be a resident of the county in which the memorial 8 hospital is located or shall reside within fifty miles of the 9 memorial hospital . 10 2. Each commission member shall be appointed by the mayor 11 with approval of the council or by the chairperson of the 12 county board of supervisors in the case of a county or joint 13 memorial building or monument. 14 EXPLANATION 15 This bill relates to residency qualifications for memorial 16 hospital commissioners. The bill provides that each 17 commissioner of a memorial hospital either be a resident of 18 the county in which the memorial hospital is located or reside 19 within 50 miles of the memorial hospital.
