S.F. 2099 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 135C.31B Medical assistance program 1 information. 2 Within thirty days of admission of a resident to a 3 nursing facility, the nursing facility shall provide contact 4 information to the resident or the resident’s representative 5 regarding resources to assist the resident with information 6 about medical assistance program eligibility requirements and 7 regulations pertaining to long-term care expenses. The nursing 8 facility shall document provision of this information in the 9 resident’s file. 10 EXPLANATION 11 This bill requires that within 30 days of admission of a 12 resident, a nursing facility shall provide contact information 13 to the resident or the resident’s representative regarding 14 resources to assist the resident with information about medical 15 assistance program eligibility requirements and regulations 16 pertaining to long-term care expenses.
