H.F. 2289 Section 1. Section 217.6, Code 2009, is amended by adding 1 the following new unnumbered paragraph: 2 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH . If the department of human 3 services requires or requests a service consumer, service 4 provider, or other person to maintain required documentation in 5 electronic form, the department shall accept such documentation 6 submitted by electronic means and shall not require a physical 7 copy of the documentation. 8 EXPLANATION 9 This bill amends Code section 217.6, relating to adoption 10 of rules and regulations by the department of human services, 11 to require the department to accept documentation submitted 12 by electronic means by a service consumer, service provider, 13 or other person when the department has required or requested 14 the documentation to be maintained in electronic form.
