  1 An Act relating to the reimbursement rate for dental services
  2    under the medical assistance program, and providing an
  3    appropriation.
  4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  1    Section 1.  MEDICAL ASSISTANCE REIMBURSEMENT == DENTAL
  1  2 SERVICES == APPROPRIATION.
  1  3    1.  For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008, the
  1  4 reimbursement rates for dental services under the medical
  1  5 assistance program shall be increased by three percent over
  1  6 the rates in effect on June 30, 2008.
  1  7    2.  There is appropriated from the general fund of the
  1  8 state to the department of human services for the fiscal year
  1  9 beginning July 1, 2008, and ending June 30, 2009, the
  1 10 following amount or so much thereof as is necessary for the
  1 11 purpose designated:
  1 12    For increased reimbursement for dental services as provided
  1 13 in subsection 1:
  1 14 .................................................. $    493,512
  1 15                           EXPLANATION
  1 16    This bill provides for an increase in the reimbursement
  1 17 rate for FY 2008=2009 for dental services under the medical
  1 18 assistance (Medicaid) program by 3 percent over the rates in
  1 19 effect on June 30, 2008.  The bill also appropriates funding
  1 20 to provide for the increase in reimbursement.
