Senate Resolution 182 PAG LIN 1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION 1 3 A Resolution recognizing the freedom=loving people of the 1 4 nation of Poland. 1 5 WHEREAS, the Senate by resolution has honored the 1 6 Meskwaki tribe members who served as Code Talkers in 1 7 North Africa during World War II and has referred to 1 8 the capture and imprisonment in Europe of one of the 1 9 tribe members; and 1 10 WHEREAS, it is necessary and prudent to dispel any 1 11 interpretation of the Senate's passage of the prior 1 12 resolution that the Senate infers any responsibility 1 13 on the part of the Polish people for the atrocities 1 14 committed by the German Nazis in their imprisonment 1 15 camps; and 1 16 WHEREAS, Polish troops fought alongside American 1 17 troops in numerous battles in Europe during World War 1 18 II, and today the nations of Poland and the United 1 19 States are staunch allies in the war on international 1 20 terrorism; NOW THEREFORE, 1 21 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate 1 22 recognizes the freedom=loving people of the nation of 1 23 Poland and the people of Polish heritage residing in 1 24 the United States, the rightful history of the Polish 1 25 people, and their continual struggle for peace, 1 26 freedom, and democracy in their own country and 1 27 abroad; and 1 28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon passage, an 1 29 official copy of this Resolution be sent to Przemyslaw 1 30 Grudzinski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to 2 1 the United States, and to Les S.
