ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 6 (1) For the purposes of providing assistance under the high 7 quality jobs program as described in section 15.335B : 8 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 13,650,000 9 (2) From the moneys appropriated in this lettered paragraph 10 “a”, the economic development authority may use not more than 11 $1,000,000 for purposes of providing infrastructure grants to 12 mainstreet communities under the main street Iowa program. 13 (2A) From the moneys appropriated in this lettered 14 paragraph “a”, the economic development authority shall 15 allocate $2,000,000 to provide financial assistance to 16 businesses engaged in disaster recovery as defined in section 17 15.327. 18 (2B) A business engaged in disaster recovery as defined 19 in section 15.327 shall qualify as a business with a project 20 located in an economically distressed area for purposes of 21 section 15.335C, subsection 1, paragraph “b”, subparagraph (1), 22 and may receive assistance from moneys appropriated in this 23 lettered paragraph “a”. 24 (3) As a condition of receiving moneys appropriated in 25 this lettered paragraph “a”, an entity shall testify upon the 26 request of the joint appropriations subcommittee on economic 27 development regarding the expenditure of such moneys. 28 Sec. ___. EFFECTIVE DATE.
