The Iowa Medical Cannabidiol Board has recommended more dispensaries in it's last three annual reports, but it has recommended a federal exemption since 2019. Forcing people to violate federal law to obtain medicine is cruel and unusual. Why would we just ignore federal authorization for this program? The federal government has authorized religious use of a psychoactive cactus in Schedule I since 1970, and it can do the same for cannabis. But, legislators just won't stand up for state sovereignty on this issue. Legislators are promoting crime and sending a message that only organized crime can provide this medical treatment. That is really sad. Iowa should stand up for law and order.
